The STEM & Student Support Club will be school pioneers in 3D printing and other technology. The club will be a presence in the GD Library’s iLab to help students with technology issues / questions, 3D design and printing, coding, and more.
There will be special library perks for members, to be announced at the first meeting!
Interested students should plan to attend the meeting tomorrow, August 25th during lunch in the iLab. If you can’t make it, email Mrs. Scatenato at email@example.com to get on the club list!
Come to the iLab to learn 3D printing basics! You will learn basic printer maintenance, how to change the filament, how to download and prep a STL / OBJ file, and how to convert to the G-Code filetype for printing, as well as some sites to tinker with your own 3D designs. Mrs. Scatenato will be hosting training sessions on the Variquest 3D printer in the iLab on the following dates during lunch:
Email Mrs. Scatenato at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a spot!
The grand opening of the RJHS Girls Library iLab will be in January of 2016. Mrs. Whitley, Ms. Schombs and Mrs. Haney have been busy ordering supplies, preparing the space and collecting donations in preparation for our first iLab innovators!
The iLab is a makerspace where students can design and create unique projects using electronics, crafts, recycled materials, and other odds and ends. This blog will be a place for students to share ideas and projects created in the iLab. The lovely library ladies will be contributing themed challenges and project suggestions to the blog, as well. Follow us for a taste of RJHS creativity!
We are still accepting donations! Please check your email or the Red & White for a more complete wish list of supplies for the iLab.
